For the final stage, we took the gondola from Châtel to Super Châtel, where the competition centre was located right next to the top station. It was time to admire the region’s wonderful mountain panorama once more before heading to the start in the alpine forests of Super Châtel. The routes led through open and semi-open terrain, over hills and through valleys, and into finely cut passages where precise map-reading was essential. Down across the alpine meadows, the pace could be picked up once more before crossing the finish line right in front of the competition centre. Today, too – albeit in cooler temperatures – we were able to enjoy the Portes du Soleil sunshine one last time – a perfect end to a fantastic Swiss O Week.
