17.07.2021 - Tomorrow the 9th Swiss O Week starts with the forest sprint stage in Arosa. The competition area with a mixture of forest, golf-course and urban areas is a premiere for the Swiss O Week.

The running area of the first stage in Arosa Obersee consists of several runna- ble and technically demanding forest pieces. Each forest has its own character which adds to the variety. There is the slightly turning, open forest with grassy grounds which allows fast running though. The clean use of the compass will be decisive here. On the somewhat steeper slope, one must keep track of the elevation. In the smaller broken ground areas, knolls, hills and depressions are lined up. A lack of focus will quickly lead to time losses. The individual forests are connected by transitions of different length. To be successful in this stage, the runners must adjust their speed exactly right after the passages to adapt to the new terrain type.

In the final narrow part, it will feel like in an anthill due to the high number of runners. The controls will be in parts awfully close to each other and checking the control number is essential. The finish is on the sportsfield Obersee in Arosa
